K-SET Exam Pattern and Marking Scheme: What You Need to Know 

The K-SET exam is conducted by the University of Mysore to assess candidates’ knowledge and expertise in various subjects. It is a state-level eligibility test that follows the guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC). Successful candidates are awarded certificates that qualify them to apply for lectureship and assistant professor positions.

2. Paper 2: Subject-Specific

  • Syllabus: Paper 2 is based on the subject chosen by the candidate, say for instance, Chemical Science, Life Science, etc. The paper tests the candidate’s breadth of knowledge pertaining to the respective subject.

The syllabus of Paper 2 is enormous as it differs with the subject that has been selected by the candidate and contains core topics from the postgraduate level of study in the chosen subject. 

Marking Scheme for K-SET Exam 

The marking scheme of K-SET is simple without any negative marking against the wrong answers. Therefore, it is highly helpful as there would be no reduction of marks against incorrect answers, and candidates can attempt all the questions with no fear of losing marks.

  • Correct Answer: +2 marks for each correct answer in both Paper 1 and Paper 2.
